Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles).

Physicians at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute have performed more percutaneous mitral repairs and aortic valve replacements than any other hospital in the country. In 2006, the hospital became the first in the country to develop a comprehensive women’s heart care center, the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center. Recently, researchers at the Heart Institute became the first in the world to grow specialized heart stem cells using the patient’s own heart tissue and then inject the stem cells back into the heart to promote muscle repair. Cedars-Sinai is ranked as the No. 3 hospital in California and is among the top eight hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital is also a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care and is Magnet-accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
