The New England Heart Institute at Catholic Medical Center offers a cholesterol management center, a congestive heart failure clinic, a vascular institute, a vein center and a women’s cardiac center. The Institute serves nearly 100 communities through collaborations with community hospitals across the state. In 1978, CMC performed the first open heart surgery in New Hampshire. CMC also received the highest three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and is ranked the No. 3 hospital overall in New Hampshire for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. Truven Health Analytics included the hospital among its 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2014.
