More and more hospitals are striving for ways to push their care focus toward the patient. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality defines it as “healthcare that establishes a partnership among practitioners, patients and their families (when appropriate) to ensure that decisions respect patients’ wants, needs, and preferences and that patients have the education and support they need to make decisions and participate in their own care.”
However, there is no quick fix to install it in a practice. A key part of accomplishing patient-centered care is staff satisfaction and engagement. The intricacies of trying to coordinate training among physicians, nurses, and support to effectively communicate and implement a more patient-centric model require extensive strategic planning. Through the use of digital solutions to streamline care among staff, such as digital rounding, staff feel empowered, purposeful, and most importantly, satisfied with their jobs.
An upcoming webinar hosted by Becker’s Hospital Review featuring representatives from Norfolk, Va.-based healthcare system Sentara Healthcare and New York City-based healthcare consulting group CipherHealth will discuss the use of digital rounding to promote patient-centered care.
Key topics include how staff satisfaction impacts patient-centered care, identifying strategies to evaluate and improve staff satisfaction through better hospital processes, how the rounding process can be improved through technology, and how digital rounding can positively impact both staff and patient satisfaction.
The webinar will take place March 24, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST. Click here to register.
