With the new function, called “E-Visits,” patients can use their MyChart online patient portal to discuss non-emergency health concerns with their provider rather than coming in for an office visit. Patients spend about 10 minutes answering questions about their symptoms, which a provider will later review alongside their medical history.

For a standard E-Visit, a provider will respond to a patient’s request within one business day with either a treatment plan or instructions to schedule an in-person visit. An E-Visit, which is only offered to those in the state of Ohio, costs $35, which can be paid online with a credit card.
