FDA Approves Gore Medical's Viabhan Endoprosthesis Devices Use Expansion

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has expanded approval for Flagstaff, Ariz.-based Gore Medical's Viabahn Endoprosthesis to be used for narrow or blocked blood vessels and blood clots where a vein and anrteriovenous access graft connect, according to a news release.

Previously, the Gore Viabahn was only approved for use in the iliac and superficial femoral arteries. The device can now be used at the elbow and at "other challenging venous anastomotic locations," according to the news release.
