The FreeStyle Libre is the first continuous glucose monitoring system that does not require adult patients to draw a blood sample from their fingertip.
The device contains a small sensor wire that is inserted below the skin’s surface to regularly measure and monitor glucose levels. Patients can assess glucose levels by waving a mobile reader device above the sensor wire. The device can be worn for up to 10 days.
