Here are the eight latest drugs or medical devices approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

  1. Amjevita is a biosimilar copy of Abbvie’s best-selling arthritis drug Humira.
  2. Ahead 300 is a handheld medical device that helps clinicians diagnose a traumatic brain injury.

  3. Dublin-based Medtronic developed the MiniMed 670G, an artificial pancreas for patients with type 1 diabetes.
  4. Llaris, an anti-inflammatory drug developed by Basel, Switzerland-based Novartis, can now be used to treat three more rare auto-inflammatory diseases.

  5. New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson & Johnson’s anti-inflammatory drug Stelara can now be used to treat Crohn’s disease.
  1. The FreeStyle Libre Pro system is a continuous glucose monitoring system developed by Abbott Park, Ill.-based Abbott.
  2. Boston-based Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ cystic fibrosis drug Orkambi can now be used to treat children ages 6 to 11.

  3. The BD Vacutainer Barricor plasma blood collection tube separates plasma from whole blood samples.
