Fortune named TeamHealth, a physician staffing company based in Knoxville, Tenn., to its annual "The World's Most Admired Companies" list.
This is the third consecutive year TeamHealth received the distinction. In total, 35 healthcare companies were named to the list this year.
Fortune compiled the list in collaboration with consulting firm Korn Ferry Hay Group. The partners started with about 1,500 candidate companies, including the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue and the non-U.S. companies in Fortune's Global 500 database with revenues of $10 billion or more. They proceeded to narrow the pool of companies down to the highest-revenue earning companies in each industry for a total of 680 companies in 28 countries. The top-rated companies were selected from the pool of 680.
