Newton (Kan.) Medical Center. This 103-bed nonprofit hospital was established in 1988 when two community hospitals, with histories stretching back more than a century, merged. Newton Medical Center was named a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by iVantage for 2016. In 2014 and 2016, the hospital also garnered the Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades.
