Northern Hospital of Surry County (Mt. Airy, N.C.). The origins of this hospital can be traced back to the 1950s. Northern Hospital of Surry County has since blossomed into a high-tech facility staffed by board-certified and fellowship-trained clinical specialists. Northern Hospital’s most recent expansion occurred in 2009 with the opening of a 58,000-square-foot surgery center. In 2016, for the second consecutive year, the hospital earned the Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades.
