Charlottesville-based University of Virginia School of Medicine has appointed diagnostic radiologist Colin Derdeyn, MD, as interim dean.
Dr. Derdeyn has held the role of radiology and medical imaging chair since January 2024, according to an Aug. 12 news release from the university.
Current medical school dean Melina Kibbe, MD, will step down Sept. 3. Former chair of neurology Howard Goodkin, MD, will serve as senior advisor to Dr. Derdeyn for six months, the release said.
