The survey of 256 radiologist also found 74 percent of private practice radiologists said they were “very” or “a little concerned” about being driven out of business by acquisitions or outsourcing.
Private practice radiologists, including those employed by an imaging center, represented the largest group by employment in the survey (40 percent), followed by those employed by a hospital (33 percent) and those employed by an academic medical center (23 percent).
Among all respondents, pay reductions and long-term job security topped the list of major concerns.
