The team, which left the U.S. Feb. 12, includes two physicians from the University of Maryland Medical Center.

The group was volunteering at a nonprofit organization — Mission at Natuvu Creek — on Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island. Authorities are unsure when the group will be able to return to the U.S.

The death toll from Tropical Cyclone Winston continues to rise. Most recently, the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reported 21 dead and four missing.
