Woman posing as RN arrested in Indiana

A woman serving as the director of nursing services at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ind., was arrested Thursday for posing as a registered nurse, according to a CBS4 report.

Holly Whyde is a licensed practical nurse, but not an RN. She allegedly stole another nurse's identity and license number to work as a registered nurse at Kindred for more than a year, according to the report. Ms. Whyde oversaw other nurses in this role before she was fired in December 2015 due to questions about her license.

Ms. Whyde used the license of another Indiana nurse, who is also named Holly. The other Holly, whose last name was not reported, sounded alarms when she ran into trouble renewing her license and noticed information had been changed.

Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Columbus is cooperating fully with authorities, according to a statement it released to CBS4. The facility conducted its own investigation once it learned that a former employee was under law enforcement investigation for identity theft.

Ms. Whyde is scheduled to appear in federal court Monday.
