Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (Oak Bluffs, Mass.). Martha’s Vineyard Hospital may not be very big — the critical access hospital has only 25 beds — but it is still a leader in environmental sustainability. In 2011, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital became the ninth hospital in the country to receive USGBC’s LEED Gold certification. Features of the facility include locally extracted and recycled building materials, low-flow faucets, dual flush water closet handles, rooftop and courtyard gardens and bicycle racks, to name a new. Martha’s Vineyard Hospital also participates in all six HHI Challenges.
