A chain of primary care clinics in Minneapolis is responding to the nation's physician shortage with a unique model: staffing nurse practitioners only, Medscape reported Sept. 23.

Three hospitals received Magnet designation for the first time in August, while another five were redesignated, according to the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Phoenix-based Aspen University voluntarily surrendered its nursing program license Sept. 20 after notifying the Arizona State Board of Nursing that it cannot meet the minimum required first-time pass rate percentage on the national nursing exam.
