Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health has launched a high school-to-hospital nursing education program.

The Nursing Degree in Three program was created in collaboration with Yankton, S.D.-based Mount Marty University and Bishop O’Gorman Catholic High School in Sioux Falls, according to a news release posted on the American Hospital Association website. This program allows students in their junior year of high school to take advanced placement and dual credit courses to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in three years.

The system also offers the Avera Nursing Advantage program to junior and senior nursing students at the university, which covers tuition and partial room and board costs for their final two years while the students work part time at Avera facilities.
