The report includes data from a survey that polled 413,386 U.S. physicians. Around 31,400 physicians were from 25 specialty areas. The fieldwork was conducted by Medscape from Oct. 16 to Dec. 4 2013.
When asked whether they are religious or spiritual and whether they practice their faith, respondents reported the following:
Seventy-five percent of female anesthesiologists report being religious or spiritual compared to 72 percent of male anesthesiologists.
Fifty-eight percent of male anesthesiologists say that they practice their faith as compared to 54 percent of female anesthesiologists who report practicing their faith.
