Mercy Health officials are having all employees outfitted for “super scrubs,” or waterproof antimicrobial scrubs. The scrubs are different from those found in most hospitals because they repel fluid rather than absorb it, the report states.
“We feel this will be an excellent opportunity for us to reduce infections that people may acquire within a hospital setting,” Craig Albers, RN, president of Oregon, Ohio-based Mercy Health St. Charles, told WTOL-11.
The technology used in the scrubs has been approved by the American Hospital Association, according to the report.
