IHI Conference Showcases Quality Improvement Research

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s 19th Annual Scientific Symposium on Improving the Quality and Value of Health Care, hosted as part of IHI’s 25th annual National Forum, highlighted quality improvement efforts in sepsis mortality, hospital-acquired conditions, readmissions and population health.

Presenters included Cincinnati Children’s Hospital on discharge improvements, the New York Medicare Quality Improvement Organization on readmissions reductions, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia) and Penn State Milton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center on treating sepsis, several Virginia hospitals on adverse event disclosure, White River Junction (Vt.) VA Medical Center on shared medical appointments and the IHI on developing improvement expertise with the state of Louisiana.
