President of CVS/caremark Jon Roberts expressed optimism regarding the new offer that should improve medication adherence which, in turn, can help improve the health of patients.
“Ensuring all of our members have access to important information about their prescriptions is in keeping with our purpose of helping people on their path to better health,” said Mr. Roberts.
The ScripTalk labels are free to CVS/caremark members that have a visual impairment. Customers can obtain a ScripTalk reader that will enable them to listen to the information on the label from Envision America.
The new service is the result of a collaborative effort between CVS Health, the American Council of the Blind and CVS/caremark members.
