CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha has regained its state designation as a comprehensive trauma center, according to a local news report.

The hospital lost its status in January after the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services ruled CUMC failed to meet four of the 160 required standards to keep its Level I certification.

CUMC claims the four deficiencies were corrected almost immediately after DHHS officials ruled against the hospital. CUMC reapplied for Level I trauma status in mid-January and, on Feb. 11, DHHS visited the facility and found no deficiencies.

The designation the state granted CUMC is valid for four years, although DHHS will perform another on-site review of the hospital within one year.
