Nexera and sterile processing certification

According to a recent article by Nexera‘s Director of Sterile Processing, Mary Olivera, emphasizes the importance of knowing and utilizing best practices for sterile processing.

In the article, Ms. Olivera notes a few issues that cause failing best sterile practices:

– High Surgery Volume

– Untrained Staff

– Isufficient Inventory/Sterlie Processing Capacity

In an attempt to combat this was made by New Jersey and New York. The 2 states now require certification of “central sterile staff.” Other states suchs as Connecticut and Pennslyvania are considering similar legislation.

With this legislation in place, it makes sure that all staff is aware of the latest information and techniques for disease prevention.
