Four things to know:
1. Walgreens has launched 12 Health Corner locations at stores in the two cities and plans to open eight more by mid-2022.
2. The in-store sites are staffed by pharmacists who can answer patients’ medication questions, help them manage ongoing health concerns or conduct health screenings.
3. These services will be available for free to members enrolled in Blue Shield’s commercial preferred provider organization and health maintenance organization plans who live within 20 miles of a Walgreens Health Corner site.
4. Walgreens first piloted the Health Corner model in 2020 and is on track to roll out more than 100 Health Corners nationwide by the end of 2022.
