HealthHubs are CVS’ redesigned health-focused concept stores that have space dedicated to helping customers manage such chronic conditions as diabetes, hypertension and asthma. Each store features an expanded health clinic with a lab for blood testing and health screenings as well as wellness rooms equipped to handle yoga classes and seminars.
The stores also have more shelf space for health-focused products, such as medical equipment and supplies for diabetes care and sleep apnea.
In the first half of 2020, CVS will open HealthHubs in Boston, Dallas-Forth Worth, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia. It will also open a few stores in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Hartford, Conn., where Aetna, its recently acquired insurer, is located.
CVS chose the markets where Aetna identified a higher likelihood of chronic disease among its health insurance members.
CVS announced last month it would add 1,500 HealthHubs by the end of 2021.
