Warby Parker to begin accepting UnitedHealthcare vision plans in 2018

Warby Parker will begin accepting UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored and individual vision plans next year, which marks the first time the New York City-based eyeglass and sunglass retailer is accepting vision insurance.

Beginning in 2018, people enrolled in Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare vision plans can purchase Warby Parker eyewear online or at one of its 50 retail locations for little to no out-of-pocket cost.

"Warby Parker and UnitedHealthcare will help more Americans access designer eyewear at affordable prices to help meet the eye-care needs of the people we serve," said Tom Wiffler, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits. "We are grateful Warby Parker selected UnitedHealthcare to be its first in-network vision plan."
