Both UnitedHealth and the auditor’s office declined to comment to the publication regarding  the probe.

The investigation comes one week after Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced a $55 million settlement with Centene, a payer also accused of overbilling Medicaid for prescriptions.

Mississippi has been in contract with UnitedHealth since 2017. The company has made $250 million from the state’s Medicaid services since then, the article said.
