Parkview Medical Center may go out of network with Cigna

Parkview Medical Center, one of the largest hospitals in southern Colorado, may soon be considered out of network for Cigna members, according to local TV station KRDO.

Pueblo, Colo.-based Parkview Medical Center and Cigna have until July 1 to negotiate a new contract. If a resolution isn't reached, Cigna members could see significant increases in what it costs them to access Parkview Medical providers.

Negotiations between the two parties reached an impasse in April due to disagreements over rates. The number of patients who might be affected is unclear, according to the report.
