Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Compassus have completed the final phase of their home-based care joint venture, which brings Providence’s Oregon home health, hospice and palliative care operations under Compassus management.
The joint venture operates as Providence at Home with Compassus. In Oregon, it includes 17 programs: nine home health, six hospice and two palliative care, according to a Nov. 2 news release.
With Oregon added, the partnership now covers five states: Alaska, California, Oregon, Texas and Washington. The first phase launched in March 2025 in Alaska, Texas and Washington.
The Oregon Health Authority approved the Oregon portion with conditions in May. Those conditions require the joint venture to invest $30 million in Oregon home health and hospice operations over five years. The joint venture must also continue Providence Home Health & Hospice’s community benefit programs in the state.
The organizations said specialized tools are reducing administrative work for caregivers across joint venture markets. They also said hospice visits during patients’ last days of life have increased.
Terri Warren, chief of community services at Providence, said in the release that the partnership gives care teams training, tools and stability while keeping patients with caregivers they already know.
