Oscar expands to 6 states for 2020

Oscar is extending its individual coverage footprint to six new states and 12 new markets for 2020, the health insurer said Aug. 22.

This is the third year in a row Oscar has significantly expanded its services. In total, the health insurer now operates in 15 states and 26 markets.

New to Oscar's individual markets for 2020 are Florida cities Miami, Tampa, Ocala and Daytona; Philadelphia; Denver; Richmond, Va.; Atlanta; and the Kansas City metropolitan area in Missouri and Kansas. Oscar will also enter Houston in Texas and expand its offerings in the state's Dallas-Fort Worth area. Residents in several Western Michigan counties will likewise gain access to the insurer's products.

In addition to expanding its individual market coverage, Oscar is launching Medicare Advantage plans in New York and Houston, first announced in July.
