New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health signed an agreement with Cigna to maintain their 20-year network relationship.
Under the one-year agreement, Northwell hospitals, physicians, laboratories and home health providers will remain in network with Cigna.
The contract comes after Cigna notified members Nov. 30 it would no longer be in network with Northwell Health.
"Northwell puts its patients first to ensure that all patients receive the medical care they need," said Howard Gold, executive vice president and chief managed care officer at Northwell Health. "We regret any confusion or inconvenience caused by Cigna's letter."
