Centene to expand business in 10 states: 3 things to know

Centene Corp. will extend its offerings on the ACA's health insurance marketplace in 10 states for 2020, the health insurer said Aug. 13.

Three things to know:

1. Centene will expand its footprint in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

2. Unlike other health insurers, Centene has experienced success on the ACA's individual insurance exchanges. Nearly all of its members are eligible for subsidies to offset premium costs.

3. As of June 30, Centene covered nearly 2 million exchange members across 20 states. It is the largest provider of health insurance marketplace plans in the country, according to President and CEO Michael Neidorff.
