BCBS of Illinois to offer plans on ACA exchange

BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, the state's largest insurer, is preparing to return to the ACA exchange in 2018 despite the unpredictability surrounding the healthcare law, according to the Chicago Tribune.

While the extent of BCBS's participation in the exchange is undecided, Colleen Miller, a spokeswoman for the insurer, confirmed that rates will be submitted, according to the report.

"We're working with regulators at the state and federal level to achieve a stable and sustainable market," Ms. Miller said in an email to the Chicago Tribune.

Changes related to the ACA could mean steep premium increases for individuals purchasing plans on the exchanges this year.
