Memphis, Tenn.-based Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. will replace Memphis-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as an in-network hospital in BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee's Network S, according to a Memphis Business Journal report.
Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis will remain in Chattanooga-based BCBST's Network S, which is the insurer's most popular provider network. Methodist's other facilities will be in the insurer's Blue Network PSM, BlueCare and TennCare Select networks, the report states.
The change is effective Jan. 1 for Memphis residents.
"Baptist has offered BlueCross lower rates," Mary Donelson, BCBST director of corporate communications, told Memphis Business Journal. "BlueCross will work with both Baptist and Methodist to ensure group customers and members have the time and information needed to make decisions about their network and provider choices for 2018 and beyond."
