Banner|Aetna, the joint venture chartered by Phoenix-based Banner Health and Aetna, is stepping into Arizona's ACA marketplace in January 2022.
The move into Arizona features three counties — Maricopa, Pinal and Pima — and taps Aetna's range of resources, the joint venture announced Aug. 4.
"As an Arizona-based company, we are excited to offer affordable, high-quality coverage to individual members and their families," said Tom Grote, CEO of Banner|Aetna. "We're a unique kind of insurance company in that we team with high-performing local physicians and hospitals to discover new ways to help consumers navigate the health care system and access high-quality care."
Mr. Grote also touted competitive pricing between three tiers of plans.
Prior to the announcement, the venture only offered plans to Arizona employers.
