Aetna to close another prescription delivery hub, cut 138 jobs

Aetna will close its mail-order prescription delivery location in Kansas City, Mo., resulting in 138 layoffs, according to the Kansas City Business Journal. This is the second site reported that Aetna will close.

The move will affect several positions, including 33 pharmacists and 56 pharmacy employees pharmacists.

The decision is driven by the insurer’s consolidation with CVS Health. Aetna and CVS closed their merger last November.

Aetna will also close its Rx Home Delivery facility in Plantation, Fla., which will result in 106 employees losing their jobs.
