West Virginia hospital cuts obstetrics services, will lay off 28 employees

Point Pleasant, W.Va.-based Pleasant Valley Hospital is ending obstetrics services by the end of the month, affecting 53 jobs, according to Metro News.

The rural hospital said it will not fill 25 positions that are vacant and 28 employees will be laid off.

 Pleasant Valley Hospital leaders said additional savings will come from reducing part-time hours, retiring employees and attrition.
