Texas Health Resources, DispatchHealth expand home care collaboration

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources is expanding its collaboration with DispatchHealth, which provides home care services.

The partnership, which launched in 2019, initially provided care at home for Dallas residents. The expansion will include at-home medical care for Fort Worth residents.

Acute care patients can contact DispatchHealth via app, phone call or website and request a medical team visit to their house, senior living facility or place of need. The medical team, which includes a physician assistant or nurse practitioner and a medical technician, typically arrives within two hours of the request. The team can treat a several conditions, including fall injuries and dehydration, and perform blood tests.

Providers from Texas Health Resources' physicians group refer patients who may benefit from the service.

"Our patients and their families are especially happy with this affordable option, as it prevents unnecessary travel to and from an outpatient center or hospital emergency room," said Winjie Miao, senior executive vice president and chief experience officer at Texas Health Resources.

Since the program's launch, DispatchHealth and Texas Health Resources have conducted 3,584 home care visits.
