Idaho hospital to cease inpatient services

Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho plans to transition the hospital on base from an inpatient facility to an outpatient clinic Aug. 1, according to KTVB.

All inpatient services will move to Tricare facilities in Mountain Home and Boise, Idaho. Mountain Home Air Force Base's hospital is making the transition in stages and has already ceased labor and delivery services.

Officials said low patient volume and a lack of complex cases were two key factors in the decision to end inpatient care at the hospital, according to the report.
