Florida hospital grows robotics program — 3 highlights

Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital added the ROSA knee robot to its orthopedic surgery team, SRQ reports.

Three highlights:

1. The addition further expands Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s growing robotics program.

2. Edward Stolarski, MD, and Sean Dingle, MD, performed two total knee replacements using the robot on Sept. 26.

3. Drs. Stolarski and Dingle created custom surgical plans using ROSA’s 3D-imaging software, assessed bones and soft tissues in the knee using real-time intraoperative data, and precisely cut and positioned the patients’ new knees using robotic guidance.
