University of Iowa Health Care to Spend More Than $1B on Long-Term Construction Projects

Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health Care is planning a series of construction projects that would cost more than $1 billion, according to a Press-Citizen report.

These projects include a new $284 million children's hospital tower and two new towers for adult inpatient services. Some of the new facilities will be partly funded by money raised through the University of Iowa Foundation's $500 million "Iowa First" capital campaign.

UIHC has presented its construction plans to the state board of regents.
