North Shore-LIJ Health TV Launches on Cable Network

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, based in Great Neck, N.Y., has launched a video-on-demand network that will be available to approximately 3 million Cablevision customers on Long Island and other areas of New York, including part of New York City, according to a news release by the health system.

North Shore-LIJ Health TV will feature health and wellness information videos featuring North Shore-LIJ providers and information on the system's facilities. North Shore-LIJ is the first provider in the New York-area to establish its own cable channel, according to the report.

"The launch of North Shore-LIJ Health TV with Cablevision provides a groundbreaking television experience that utilizes the strengths of both organizations to bring health and wellness information in the form of video on-demand content from New York’s very best physicians and clinicians into the living rooms," said Michael Dowling, president and CEO of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. "We view this as another important avenue to communicate vital health and wellness information to people who use our services or who need reliable information about a full spectrum of medical conditions."
