Man accused of impersonating physician, treating thousands

A 44-year-old man has been indicted on charges of falsely claiming to be a licensed physician and treating thousands of patients over several years.

Stephan Gevorkian faces five felony counts of practicing medicine without a certification following a November 2022 investigation, according to an April 24 Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office press release.

Mr. Gevorkian owns and operates Pathways Medical in Los Angeles, which conducts blood tests and offers treatment for serious conditions including cancer and viral infections. During the investigation, an undercover agent received a consultation where Mr. Gevorkian allegedly failed to accurately address abnormal hormone levels that could indicate a serious medical condition.

A warrant was filed on April 19, according to the report. Mr. Gevorkian's preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 24.
