Health IT VC funding falls

Health IT startups raised $900 million in the third quarter of 2023, making it the second consecutive quarter of declining funding, according to a Dec. 13 Pitchbook report.

The startups raised the capital across 61 deals. Deal count dropped below the fourth quarter of 2022's low point. The Pitchbook report pointed to continued high interest rates and poor performance of the few initial public offerings as factors that dampened the market.

Nurse staffing marketplace Nursa, hospital-at-home company Inbound Health and interoperability company Rhapsody raised large funding rounds in the quarter.
