Hospital workers join Labor Day 'Fight for $15' events

Hospital workers nationwide reportedly advocated for a $15 per hour minimum wage and unionization during various Labor Day marches across the country.

In Pittsburgh, approximately 200 activists, including hospital and fast-food workers, participated in an event organized by groups such as Service Employees International Union, Pittsburgh UNITED, the local Democratic Socialists of America chapter, the Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network and "Fight for $15," reports Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The publication states the activists marched to the Cathedral of Learning landmark and UPMC Presbyterian prior to a rally.

In Detroit, medical and food workers were among those protesting outside a McDonald's and Henry Ford Hospital, according to a WJBK report. The protest took place prior to the Labor Day parade.

In Milwaukee, hundreds of union members, fast-food workers and supporters participated in a Labor Day rally, reports WITI.
