Major US cities struggling to fill healthcare positions: 3 study findings

Healthcare talent is needed in every major city of the U.S., except for three, according to LinkedIn’s June Workforce Report.

Healthcare professionals with skills in clinical data analysis, pharmaceutics and urgent care are needed across the country. However, LinkedIn’s study shows Philadelphia, Cleveland and St. Louis have an abundance of workers with these skill sets.

Here are three more findings from the report.

  1. Administrative skills, such as medical billing and management, are needed in Atlanta, Austin, Texas, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
  1. Pharmaceutical skills, such as pharmaceutical sales and pharmaceutics, are needed in Phoenix.
  1. Nursing skills, such as patient care and infection control, are lacking in Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
