Within the healthcare industry, ambulatory healthcare services employment grew the most last month, adding 12,600 jobs. Hospital employment grew by 7,400 jobs.
Healthcare job growth in May is below the industry’s average monthly job growth so far in 2017, according to the BLS. The average monthly job growth is 22,000 so far this year, compared to the 32,000 new jobs per month that BLS reported in 2016.
