Registered nurses at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka (Calif.) and Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, Calif., ratified a three-year contract Oct. 30.

The agreement covers more than 700 nurses across the two hospitals and runs from July 21, 2026, to July 21, 2029, according to a Nov. 2 news release from California Nurses Association/National Nurses United.

Providence Humboldt Chief Nursing Officer Sarah Park, BSN, RN, said in a statement shared with Becker’s that management and nurses remain focused on delivering high-quality care.

“This contract ratification shows how deeply our caregivers, both bedside and management, care about this community,” Ms. Park said. “We are grateful for the work done to improve our contract and the partnership at the table that made the agreement possible.”

The contract preserves the hospitals’ lift team and existing healthcare cost-sharing provisions, according to the union news release. It also includes new anti-bullying protections and economic gains aimed at recruiting and retaining experienced nurses. The union did not provide details on the economic gains.
