WellStar pays $575M for 5 Tenet hospitals

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare sold its five Atlanta-area hospitals and 26 physician clinics to Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System for $575 million in cash.

Tenet and WellStar began negotiations last July, and the systems entered a definitive agreement for the sale of the hospitals and clinics last December.

The five hospitals included in the deal are: Atlanta Medical Center; East Point, Ga.-based Atlanta Medical Center-South Campus; Roswell, Ga.-based North Fulton Hospital; Griffin, Ga.-based Spalding Regional Hospital; and Jackson, Ga.-based Sylvan Grove Hospital.
