Lee County’s operating agreement with Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Americore is set to terminate Feb. 1 after the company failed to reopen the hospital, which has been closed since 2013.
Wellmont Health System, which merged with Mountain States Health Alliance in 2018 to become Ballad Health, was the last system to operate the hospital.
